The New Zealand Working Holiday Visa (WHV) scheme is already bringing people from various parts of the world to work and travel around the country. Most holders of a WHV can stay in New Zealand for one year working in the country’s most scenic and idyllic locations, while getting the real Kiwi experience surrounded by the open spaces, beautiful scenery and enjoying some of Aotearoa's best tourist destinations and attractions. WHV holders can also study for up to 6 months.

Who can apply for a WHV in New Zealand?
There are different WHV requirements for different nationalities. For most, you must be aged 18-30 years old and will be able to stay in New Zealand for 12 months - or 23 months if you are from the UK or Canada. You also need to have enough money to pay for a return ticket, and your main intention should be enjoying holidays – with work and study being your secondary intention.
For some nationalities, there may be a cap on the number of WHS visas that Immigration NZ will issue. You can find all requirements of the WHV scheme for your nationality, including application dates and cap numbers (if any), here.
