Special Children’s Christmas Party

Trinity has always been committed to give back to our local communities. This year, we were lucky to be given the chance to become a sponsor of the Special Children’s Christmas Party. Our Immigration Manager Carmi tells us a bit about her experience at the event.

Trinity has always been committed to give back to our local communities. We partner with different charities and regularly support worthwhile causes that we believe in. This year, we were lucky to be given the chance to become a sponsor of the Special Children’s Christmas Party, an annual event that is held for kids who live with disabilities, life-threatening illnesses, or challenging home circumstances such as those who are underprivileged or experience domestic violence.

The party is held throughout New Zealand and over 10,000 children are invited to the event. In Canterbury, the event took place at the Horncastle Arena last November 19th and it was a huge success – the happiness on the children’s faces were evident. They were dancing, laughing, eating, and having a good time with their families. The atmosphere was very festive, and there were plenty of activities that kept the children happy and occupied. They also got to receive gifts from Santa’s den.

It was so great to see local businesses come together to support a worthwhile cause – to make children happy and forget their unfortunate circumstances even for just one day. I feel privileged that I was able to take part in the event and be around the children who reminded me that joy can be found in the littlest things. A humbling experience for sure,  it’s an event that I’ll look forward to taking part in each year.
